WEEK 8 COLLEGE FOOTBALL PICKS

The positivity is High this Friday morning.  Its getting colder and snow is in the forecast this weekend.  Something about that blast of cold air in the morning as I’m walking my dog gets my blood going like no other.  The summer heat is behind us and its time to breathe in that cool crisp mountain air all winter.

Speaking of “Sno fall” and a breath of fresh air, Jeezy has done it again.  I’m so disconnected from pop culture at this point that I didn’t know he was dropping an album until Pat McAfee spoke about it on his show yesterday.  This album is crisp and clean like that first sip of an ice cold 7UP on a hot July day, and it has beats and sounds that are bound to uplift and motivate.

Regarding my favorite sport on earth, FOOTBALL, there are a few games I love this week.

  1. UCF -5: UCF is a good turning into a great team and ECU is trending the other way. UCF wins by double digits on the road
  2. Clemson -13.5: I was wrong on Syracuse to begin the season and vowed I wouldn’t bet against them again after losing the first 2 weeks, but…Clemson has found its groove in all 3 phases and Syracuse’ run must end at some point.  Give me the Tigers in Death Valley to win in a low scoring blowout.
  3. Kansas +9: I am 5-0 betting on Kansas games this season. Let’s make it 6.
  4. Miss State +21.5: Both teams coming off disappointing road losses and both need to get a win to stay competitive in the SEC west.  Two desperate teams generally lead to an evenly played game.  I don’t see Alabama having the juice in the tank to run Miss State off the field after the marathon the team ran last week against the explosive Vols.  I look for Miss State to keep this game within 2 scores the entire game, and who knows, maybe some voodoo magic will happen on this Halloween weekend in Tuscaloosa.
  5. LSU M/L: I was dead right on LSU last week straight up against Florida.  This is a much better team than the one that lost to FSU at home…I mean on a neutral site in the Superdome.  Ole Miss is very good, but this team will be too much for them.  LSU wins a close and potentially chaotic game.
  6. UCLA +6.5: Chip is back.  UCLA has a better offense and defense statistically.  I was early on them last season win I bet them to win the Pac 12, but clearly this team needed one more year.  Give me UCLA STRAIGHT UP to beat Bo Nix in Eugene.

These are the winners that are sure to lose somehow, but standing in my kitchen on this Friday morning, I’ve got all the confidence in the world.  Enjoy the football, listen to some Jeezy, and wager for fun, NOT to retire.
