Week 10 College Football
Standing in my kitchen with a coffee and a J…
The warm-up in last Saturday’s weather certainly translated to hotter picks as I predicted. Its always nice to bounce back with an outstanding 5-2 ATS, and one of the losses being the awful beat West Virginia +7 ½. Just like we can’t dwell too much on the down weeks, its also not healthy to celebrate too much after a profitable weekend. Nose back to the grindstone and fine tune in on some winners. Its funny that I mention the warm weather last Saturday because since then we’ve had snow falling off and on for the past 3 days and this morning it is a brisk 19˚F.
We are deep into this College Football season with so much drama left to unfold. The CFB Playoff Committee led by fearless leader Boo Corrigan has already graced us with their ineptitude when it comes to ranking these teams. I don’t need to pile on to what has already been said about the rankings, and to be honest, I do not care about them when it comes to picking games. Except to say that there is zero percent chance that Clemson is the countries 4th best team right now. “ZERO!!”- (Mark Baum, “The Big Short.”)
The rankings create good storylines and adds drama but that’s about it because frankly, there is just too much football left to play on the field. Feeling like an undefeated Saturday is upon us. There are 3 games that I love and a few more that I like.
“LOVE”
- Arizona St +11 (ML)
- Tennessee +8.5 (-130)
- Oklahoma – 3
Buying the hook saved us last week in the Virginia game and most likely we won’t need it in the UT game, but I’m buying it just in case of some aggressive crazy 2 point conversion by UGA late.
“LIKE”
- VIRGINIA +7 ½
- IOWA ST -7
- LSU +13 ½
- TULSA +7 ½
- SOUTH CAROLINA – 6
I am confident that by the end of the games that these are the correct sides, but the process of getting the W will most certainly be stressful and will make me question myself constantly.
So, here’s to going 8-0 on this incoming glorious College Football Saturday that we love so much and may humanity relearn to love and encourage others. I would sacrifice and go 0-8 this week if it meant the latter could transform into a reality.
Remember: Wager for fun, Not to retire.
