“We are stuck with this fraud for a while. But it is a lot better than being in prison.” -Hunter S. Thompson 2/5/01 Hey Rube
Scottie Scheffler won The Open in less dramatic fashion than a viewing audience may have preferred. With a special cup of coffee and a square of homemade cheesecake in front of me on the red oak poseur table, my better half and I watched Scottie carve shot after shot through the Northern Ireland elements on his way to a quietly dominating performance. A performance witnessed on–Peacock.
Interesting creatures Peacocks are. Both Senpai and Kohai–Master and Pupil. Some are luckier than others.
“Peacocks don’t move around much at night. They like a high place to roost, and they will usually find one before sundown…My own peacocks wander widely during the day, but at night they come back into their warm cage. Every once in a while, they will miss curfew & decide to roost in a tree or on top of a telephone pole…and that is what happened last week while we were watching the Super Bowl. It was not a lightning ball that blacked out my house but a male peacock that stepped on a power line & caused a short circuit that burned him to a cinder & blew half my electrics.” -HST 2/5/01 Hey Rube
Now, hopefully this streaming service called Peacock doesn’t get rendered to ash before football season starts like this poor creature did and “fry my electronics.” Hopefully, this Peacock has a long life like “30 Rock’s” Argus. Full of wisdom and vitality–and the spirit of Don Geiss. Most importantly, not fried like KFC on a power pole at 8,000 ft on Super Bowl Sunday.
NBC’s Peacock would do no such thing. As host of Super Bowl LX, this Peacock is going to have its best year yet.
Before presenting the grand finale of the football calendar on 2/8/26, Peacock will feature at least one College football game every week, including one triple header. The schedule runs as follows:
- 8/29 5:30 Western Illinois @ Illinois
- 8/30 5:30 New Mexico @ Michigan
- 9/6
- 1:30 Miami (OH) @ Rutgers
- 5:30 Boston College @ Michigan St
- 9/13
- 10:00 Towson @ Maryland
- 5:00 Ohio @ Ohio St
- 5:30 Texas A & M @ Notre Dame
- 9/20 1:30 Purdue @ Notre Dame
- 9/27 5:30 Oregon @ Penn St
- 10/4 1:30 Boise St @ Notre Dame
- 10/11 5:30 NC St @ Notre Dame
- 10/18 5:30 USC @ Notre Dame
- 10/25 TBD
- 11/1 TBD
- 11/8 5:30 Navy @ Notre Dame
- 11/15 TBD
- 11/22 1:30 Syracuse @ Notre Dame
- 11/28 5:30 Indiana @ Purdue
Peacock is full of Big10 and Notre Dame action this season, including a couple of monster CFP landscape shaping games. Not to mention it will also feature NFL Sunday Night Football throughout the season in build up for NBC’s coverage of Super Bowl LX.
Let’s just hope this ancient avian dinosaur doesn’t get “burned to a cinder.” Be sure to cage the Peacock at night.
It’s 10 p.m. Do you know where your Peacocks are.
