The Primetime games are breaking into the second half. I’m thinking about how I would rank the teams. Obviously, there are a few results pending, but I can speculate and overthink on this Saturday night if I darn well please. This is all part of the fun for me.
So, Ohio St is my clear cut number one. It’s 7:44 on the stove top digital clock and they are leading 21-3 over Minnesota. As of right now, there is no reason to move them.
Oregon remains at two on a bye.
Miami is leading Florida St 21-3. I see no reason to move them from three.
Georgia did enough to remain at four with their 21 point win over Kentucky.
A&M is a tricky one. Ranked fifth coming into this weekend and hosting #26 Miss St, this was a chance to prove their worth in the top five. We’ll see how the game plays out, but as of right now, they may slide a touch.
Oklahoma will stay at six for now but are a candidate to move up to five.
Penn St was at seven, but they will obviously fall. How far? I mean how bad was that loss? UCLA was winless yes, but that was a brand new coaching staff with a ton of positive energy. That wasn’t a ‘dead’ 0-4 team. That was a team that was fighting on every down. There was a belief on that Bruin sideline. Coach Tim Skipper magic. “I just want the guys to compete and have fun.”-Coach Skipper.
What I’m saying is I don’t believe the loss to be AS bad as it looks on paper. It’s a bad loss, but I think given the spot, it’s a forgivable one. I’ll sleep on it for sure.
….Got a little distracted by the action. There is a lot that’s about to happen in these fourth quarters.
-Most of my deliberation is in between 16-33 anyways and at the end of the day, anything below 12 doesn’t’ matter. I like the top 12 I have in mind. It’ll come out in tomorrow night’s “General Update.”
–Hometown Tigers up 28-7. Ranked properly at #21. I’ll keep the Tigers there as long as they win by at least one. Bigger games upcoming. Just keep winning.
-Ohio St dominates when they want to. I want them to want to every play. They seem to want to about half the time. Turns out, that’s enough against the Golden Gopher squad.
-Miami 28-3 now!
-Texas A&M 14-3 over Starkville going into the fourth.
I’ll cut this off here.
