Buckets of rain falling out the window. Utah and Arizona St are still set to kick between 8:15 and 8:30. The wind has died down, but the precipitation has increased. Snow is falling at Snowbird. It was 76 degrees 2 and a half hours ago and it is now 42 feels like 32 and pouring rain. What a day. I was shirtless working on my tan at noon and now it’s winter. I’m here for it.
I’m also here for the football.
Currently Michigan is losing 21-7 at Southern Cal midway in the third quarter. Freshman RB King Miller has over 140 yards on 10 carries. He’s electric. So many great freshmen in the game right now.
Georgia is trailing Auburn 10-3 at half.
LSU is up 10-7 at half over South Carolina
BYU is up 14-7 over Arizona in a game that is delayed due to Hurricane Priscilla’s outer bands hitting Tuscon.
Texas A&M is up 24-17 over Florida in the 4th quarter.
These are the games that matter right now. Like I said, Utah is set to kick in about twenty minutes in this monsoon. It appears to be just rain for the rest of the night. Who knows? Ten more degrees and we may get a little snow.
It goes without saying that my sinus cavity is beyond clogged from the changes in pressure. Absolutely bananas. Hot honey drinks are the remedy. Fun and delicious. Look for my recipe in tomorrow night’s “General Update.” Soothes the throat and opens the sinuses. Perfect for a rainy Saturday night.
“Predicting the Unpredictable” back in June, I mentioned that parity in this sport is at its highest and that 8-4 will be a more common finishing record by elite teams than in years past. Almost entirely through Week 7, I think that sentiment is going to continue to be proved true. Everyone in Power 4 will lose. Most will lose multiple games. Who loses next?
Better questions–How many two loss or better teams will there be at the end of the regular season?
How many teams with three losses or more make the playoffs?
How this season is playing out so far, my guess is that there will be five or less teams with two losses or fewer and that seven or more will make the playoffs with three or more losses. This season will only continue to be more and more unpredictable. I’m here for it.
On the Tiki Shore Blue Couch in the drop-down-den with lake effect rain dumping outside, my fuzzy snoring on her bed next to the fireplace, and my bride editing photos across the room, I’m here for it.
All I want is the Hometown Tigers to go unbeaten, make the playoffs, and win at least one game. And Utah…Do it for Bruce.
It’s time for the late night bedtime games to begin and the Primetime games to finish. Come on Georgia! It’s time to come back!
