It’s Friday Night and Mr. Hayden is sharing his influence. This is my favorite time to look at numbers and script each game in my head. Utah is in Tempe and kicking off in about 90 minutes. Harvard and Cornell are in the closing stages on ESPN2.
Friday afternoon Ivy League football has been fun. I’d say at least 6-700 football fans were in the bleachers at kickoff based on the overhead shot as the game kicked. I guess folks in Ithaca were enjoying the mild 65 degree evening doing other things. Hiking Ithaca Falls Trail or biking around Cayuga Lake perhaps? Looks like fun. Maybe I’ll add Ithaca to the Pennsylvania Town Tour that is in the works. It doesn’t look far across the state line. Just looked. It’s an easy 4 hours East on I-86 from Edinboro. Something about that area is calling to me. Maybe there is a story that needs to be written somewhere in the rural towns of the North PA Southern NY countryside.
Anyways, Cornell cruised on their first drive and made it 7-0 in less than 5 minutes and Harvard struck back with a FG. After that, I couldn’t really tell you how we got to the 38-20 Harvard lead with 3:20 to go, but here we are.
In regard to the Utah game that kicks soon, Cam Rising is STARTING! This is big news. I’m hoping Cam is truly 100 percent and confident in his throws. I’ve already said it, but just to repeat it, Utah with a healthy Cam Rising is on my Impressive Teams list and a top contender in the Big12. That list will be updated after this week’s action. Let’s go Utes.
Oh man, I’m fired up for this one now. Points are about to get scored. What’s the over? Yeesh, 45.5. No sir, thats a stay away, but Basil is telling me Utah scores 30 by themselves. Maybe just a nickel on the TT over 24.5. As of 3 minutes ago he was reported as warming up with a glove on his throwing hand. Hoping for the best.
Anyways, I won’t ramble too long. You know me, I’ll eventually break out in song. Whoops.
Two overs I want to love this week and hope happen but will NOT under any circumstances pick:
MISS/ LSU o 62.5
- Just seems right. 41-31 SIP.
Arizona @ BYU o 49.5
- BYU is as healthy as they have been all season on offense.
- Arizona will be looking to convert more RedZone chances to TD’s. They kicked 6 FG’s in their Week 5 loss to Texas Tech.
- Both teams off a Bye.
- Juice in Provo with BIG NOON KICKOFF in town. Ice cream and Donuts for everyone.
- 31-21 Cougars.
Again, not official picks, just a short Friday Night Ramble. Let’s have a fun Saturday of football. Come Utah! Cam is Rising! Kickoff from Tempe set for 8:30 here in the mountains. A warm 77 this evening.
Until next time,
