A quick look at one of the favorites for the McNelly Award in its inaugural season.

Miles is a former walk on receiver as a freshman and now is entering his second year as a Captain on defense.
When speaking in a recent post practice interview he said, “Hard work makes it happen…anybody can do it.”
Show up, do the little things well, do all the work, do a little extra, and never quit. That’s the energy I get from watching his interviews. Miles is an example of what every coach in the country would want to help their team. Just a guy willing to work to improve every day, and a prime example of what a McNelly Award winner could look like. Leadership matters. Miles is a leader.
Let’s watch him tonight 8/29. He’ll be roaming around at Safety communicating and making plays. Illinois #10. Only up, Miles. Only up.
