Players of the Future

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. But, we do know what the Greeks knew–that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy strong; that hardy spirits and tough minds usually inhabit sound gods.”- President John Kennedy speaking on the importance of youth physical fitness and having a healthy population.

Good very early morning from the dark, desert foothills of Utah. The only light coming from the Eastern sky is provided by a crescent moon, a spattering of dimly lit stars, and Jupiter and Venus in close proximity as the sun still has its shades drawn for the night. Insects swooning, the Northern saw-whet owl hooting, and the fuzzy beast still snoring, it’s barely even considered morning. Yet, my mind is fully awake and I’m ready to start the day. Nestled in the dropdown den with my laptop, paper, and pen–yessir, I’m ready to begin…the day.

I’d say that the following young men might just be the epitome of youth physical fitness as JFK was describing. Young men that have been given physical gifts and maximized them thus far.

At this point, I’ve watched film on over fifty high school seniors, mostly Wide Receivers, DB’s and QB’s and narrowed this list down to twelve that are worth highlighting.

Corner Canyon’s Tafa (USC) and Casuga (A&M) are not on this list as I’ve mentioned them in two past posts already. Both are elite high school football players. One other player that will not be on the list is Brandon High School Safety Preston Ashley. However, the #12 player in MS and Colorado commit is on my watchlist as I’ve mentioned in another post.

This will be short and sweet as I have no new nor firsthand knowledge of these players situations. Simply, I feel an excitement towards these immensely talented players and see their massive potential impacts on the college game. Enjoy.

These are some of the exciting young players that will be breaking into the college game next season. Savion Hiter and Bralan Womack’s decisions should be made soon and that will help shape next year’s rosters.

Tennessee, Oregon, and Texas are reloading in major ways for the future. If they can retain these prospects and not lose them to the transfer portal, these teams are building strong futures. Tennessee especially. This might be the most fun stretch that Volunteer fans have seen in a long time.

Last season they made the playoffs. This season they have a young team stacked with talent and the second easiest schedule in the SEC. Next season they are bringing in the number one QB, Henderson, the number one player in Utah, Moa, potentially the number one running back, Hiter, and a plethora of other talented young men. Retaining this talent will be the most difficult part, but if they can–Tennessee will win a Natty in the next four years.

I like what Oregon is doing recruiting two talented safeties in Washington and Jackson. Washington is the most physically gifted defensive back at 6’5, but Jackson at 6’2 is no slouch player.

There are many more super talented young men that will enter college next season, but I couldn’t begin to follow them all. 247Sports or MaxPreps have the elite coverage of recruiting if you want much, much more recruiting content.

Jermaine Bishop has future Heisman Trophy winner written all over him.

Just like all of these prospects–we have to wait and see.

Texas wins it all in ’26-’27. Maybe.
