While on earth and from the grave, he continues to be one of my greatest interests and inspirations. There has never been a football coach so unique. Many have tried and still try to be the quirky genius he was, but all fall short. Eternally short of the one-of-one nature that Mike Leach embodied. I loved Mike Leach and continue to love Mike Leach’s words he left behind. Little truths and tiny fragments of wisdom straight from his heart that can help us on our way. “Come to teach us, then they leave us and find some other soul to save.” That was Mike Leach. A hero of mine and many others. No other like him. Spes et fides.
