“I don’t think; I drink”– Robert Rodriguez “Once upon a Time in Mexico.”
-It’s closing in on Midnight here in the desert and Utah is buttoning up this dominant home performence over Cincinnati. Assuming this result holds–the following is how I rank the Top24 college football teams with the CFP12 Prediction at the end. Enjoy.
SingleHighSports.com TOP24:
- Ohio St
- Georgia
- Indiana
- Texas A&M
- Alabama
- Oregon
- Mississippi
- Notre Dame
- BYU
- Texas Tech
- Virginia
- Texas
- Oklahoma
- Louisville
- Georgia Tech
- Vanderbilt
- USC
- Utah
- Miami
- Michigan
- Tennessee
- Iowa
- Washington
- Memphis
- By my count that list consist of 8 SEC, 7 Big10, 3 Big12, 4 ACC, 1 AAC, and Notre Dame
But now, we are getting to the ‘rat killin’ as former USC O-lineman John Wayne would’ve said. Now, we are getting down to the field of twelve playoff teams. The entire purpose of this season is to be one of the chosen twelve at the end. Well, I don’t get much of a say, at least, I don’t think Mack Rhoades is a reader. If he is–Well, thanks for stopping by. I’d love to chat about football sometime.
So, I don’t get a say in how the teams are picked, but that won’t keep me from continuing to try to “predict the unpredictable” before Tuesday Night’s big reveal.

Win the rest of the way and you’ll be in the 12.
This will be difficult for both Texas Tech and BYU as they play each other in a week’s time.
Teams like Texas, Louisville, Georgia Tech, and USC can still very much make the twelve but more positive work is required.
The reverse goes for the teams on this list. There is still plenty of time to lose your way straight out of the playoffs. These are only simple projections. No one can predict the future, but were the playoffs today, I’d feel good about these rankings.
To the Hometown Tigers. Just win and you’re in.
Let’s just see how the season plays out.
