RB Kalel Mullings
Unbelievable, gritty home win for the Wolverines. USC had a strong second half, but it wasn’t enough. Kalel Mullings, and the Michigan running attack dominated a final minute drive and scored to take the lead with less than a minute left.
Michigan was backed against their own side of the field with 4 minutes left. Having only passed for 9 yards in the second half, it seemed improbable for them to hit a big play, but Kalel Mullings…
On a Counter run through the middle, he seemed sure to be tackled after gaining a few yards. A trojan linebacker had both of his arms wrapped around the RB when he suddenly spun out of the tackle attempt, avoided another defender and it was off to the races. USC DB’s angled him out of bounds, but not before he gained 62 yards!! Completely flipping the field. From here, Michigan chipped their way down to the goal line with more impressive running, and then Mullings blasted in from 2 yards out on 4th and goal to seal it for the Wolverines…Such a fun game.
This one was full of pageantry and tradition, but Kalel Mullings stole the show. In fact, he is the Show. This guy is absolutely worth tuning in for and I’m calling it now…I’m drafting him in FF. Mullings for Heisman.
In an interview after the game Mullings composed and confident stated: “Just grinding. Just continuing to fight. It’s Four quarter game. We gotta Correct what we need to correct. Shout out oline! Great feeling! This win..Its huge. We Gotta get ready for next one.” And with a confident smile said to the reporter, “Have a good night.”
Damn, This dude is for real. Absolute gritty performance. This guy is the reason I love this sport sometimes. I mean, Michigan, with 9 passing yards in the second half were dangling from the ropes, and Kalel Mullings simply took control of the game. Michigan’s Oline was outstanding and the entire run blocking scheme throughout the game worked well as a unit. Well coached without a doubt. But, Mullings…Not sure if there is another running back in all the land, well maybe Rocket Sanders, but other than that, this dude is my favorite RB in the country. Mullings for Heisman! Let him eat.
