RANKED MATCHUPS: ‘Single High Sports’ Rankings

I mentioned this upcoming college football weekend earlier this morning, but I don’t believe I did the preview justice. This weekend will be stuffed with drama from the Saturday game. The longer I look at the upcoming matchups the more I get excited.

18 Ranked teams are on the road with five ranked on ranked matchups and several ‘win and your ranked’ games.

Here are the upcoming ranked matchups according to Single High Sports.

  • #26 Nebraska @ Minnesota FRI
  • #18 Louisville @ #2 Miami FRI

Louisville can give Miami a game. Miller Moss 0 INT. That’s the key. Play perfect. Spooky things can happen at night in October. Beware of Louisville.

Onto Saturday.

  • #17 Washington @ Michigan Noon
  • #10 Georgia Tech @ Duke Noon
  • #12 LSU @ Vanderbilt Noon
  • #13 Oklahoma @ South Carolina Noonish
  • #4 Texas A&M vs Arkansas 1:30
  • #6 Mississippi @ #3 Georgia 1:30
  • #1 Ohio St @ Wisconsin 1:30
  • #27 UNLV @ Boise St 1:30
  • Michigan St @ #5 Indiana 1:30

  • #23 Utah @ #15 BYU 6:00
  • #25 Navy is on a bye

Athens, Tuscaloosa, and Provo will be the most buzzing towns in America on Saturday, but they will not be the only ones. 18. Eighteen ranked teams will be on the road. That’s eighteen home fields that will have a little extra juice. Every fan wants to win them all, but when there is a number next to the visiting team’s name, a bit more vitriol seems to fume from the home side.

It’ll be a fun weekend full of drama and that’s what I want. Except for the Hometown Tigers…Just keep winning.

Now, there are a few ‘win and your ranked’ games to be found this weekend. Of course, this is contingent upon those ranked above them to lose in most cases but just for the sake of it–here are the few that I would rank if they were to win.

‘WIN and you’re Ranked’ Games:

  • Duke if they beat GT
  • Vandy if they beat LSU
  • Baylor/ TCU Winner
  • Arizona/ Houston Winner
  • Iowa if they beat Penn St
  • Maryland if they beat red hot UCLA

This weekend is fun no matter what angle you look at it from. Potential drama at every turn.

–No matter what time you check the action this Saturday, there will be a slice of drama to be had. No more than from the Primetime Window. Yikes.

PRIMETIME GAMES:

Oregon will be in Piscataway, Texas in Lexington, Utah in Provo, Tennessee in Tuscaloosa, and Southern Cal in South Bend just to name a few of the absolute can’t miss games. Watch them all. Playoff landscaping games are all over the land.

Great Job College Football. You’re still winning. As long as court jesters like myself are entertained and following along, you are winning. Pageantry and tradition matter. This season is delivering. Keep being unpredictable. I’ll eat it up like frosted flakes.

It’s half Noon on a Monday. Want a fun fact before you get back to your day?

  • It was 10/25/03 the last time Tennessee won in Tuscaloosa. A 5 OT 51-43 win for the visiting Volunteers. The longest game in both teams’ history. UT went 10-3 that season. Bama went 4-9 under Mike Shula in his first season.

Have fun today.
