Be Kind: Wrexham, the weather, football

“Hot. And I don’t mean the good kind.”-T-Bone Waitress

This is the last day that the temp will reach 80 for the next little while. Chilly nights and colder mornings are incoming. Margaret Bowman is perfect in “Hell or High Water.” She may have been ‘hot’ but she wasn’t here. We’ve chased the hot away from here. It’s time for the cool and the cold.

-Wrexham is hosting Birmingham as I type this. It’s currently 1-1. Windass just came on for Broadhead in the 70th.

Wrexham was leading 1-0 at the half, but as the announcing team explained so well, Wrexham haven’t won a game this season in which they were leading at the half. As luck would have it, the visitors equalized within the first four minutes of the second half, and it’s been 1-1 ever since.

Can Wrexham win this game in the final fifteen minutes?

-Meanwhile, the sky is darkening out the broad window that overlooks the back garden. Storms are brewing. This is the ‘warm before the storm’ as it were. Should get a little turbulent activity across the valley sporadically throughout the night. BYU will be playing as will all of the Friday Night Lights games. Let’s hope the weather is peaceful and the people are safe. Of course, we also want good football.

-This game is boring. 11 to go.

Speaking of the BYU game. I think tonight is an interesting position for them. Interesting in the sense that I think it will be a ‘close’ game. The Cougars will certainly find a way to win against the limping Mountaineers, but I think it might be slower and closer than may be expected. Not to mention the weather potentially getting squirrelly for a minute or two. This is a little things kind of game for BYU. Do them well, win by at least one and stay undefeated. Just don’t overlook a Rich Rod team. Ever.

-83rd Minute: Birmingham scored but it was called back correctly for offside.

Back to oblong–I truly can’t believe that Sam Houston lost yet again. My days. Keep pressing Bearkats. Maybe next week.

The Hometown Tigers won’t get a break from this heat. It’ll be 88 or so at kickoff. Just like the Cougars, the Tigers just need to win by one and move on. But win. Keep on winning. South Florida comes to Memphis October 25th. That’s the game! Get to that one unscathed. Go Tigers GO!

-91st minute…nada

Boy, oh boy was there a wild game last night in Thursday Night ‘Friday Night Light’ Football. Game of the year. Look for the summary in the ‘Friday Night Lights’ feature in Sunday Night’s “General Update” along with all of the action that will occur in about 4 hours.

-94th minute: neither team want to win this game.

The chilly weather has me amped for life. Full of vigor and wonder. Let’s keep exploring.

-FINAL 1-1 And Wrexham still have yet to win when they’ve led at the half. On to the next one for them.

There is a lot of football to take in this weekend and sports in general. Even Baseball. Baseball will have a featured update this week. There is a lot to watch and a lot to write. Let’s still get outside and live. In the end, be kind.
