The AAC is strong. I know, I know it’s redundant for me to write this again, but I believe it and since I don’t see anything else about this subject from anyone of note, I will bang the drum until someone else does.
It’s more than Memphis and South Florida although they are at the top at the moment. The entire conference is performing strong to begin this season tallying six wins against the Power 4, a win against Mountain West power, Boise St, and winning most of the games against other G5 opponents.
AAC Records:
- Memphis 4-0
- Best Win: Arkansas
- @FAU
- North Texas 4-0
- vs S. Alabama
- Best Win: Washington St
- Navy 3-0
- vs Rice
- Best Win: @Tulsa
- Rice 3-1
- @Navy
- South Florida 3-1
- Best Wins: Boise St, @Florida
- Loss: @Miami
- Tulane 3-1
- @Tulsa
- Best Wins: Northwestern, Duke
- 5 Teams at .500
- Best Win: Oklahoma St
- FAU 1-2
- Army 1-2
- Win: Kansas St
- Charlotte 1-3
UTSA is one of the .500 teams, but they look better than the record suggests. It’s still very possible that the Roadrunners could finish with the expected 9-10 wins, but to do so will have to upset USF, Tulane, and/ or North Texas.
North Texas may need to run the table, but by my estimation a one-loss, USF, Memphis, and Tulane would have a strong playoff argument.
The AAC is the strongest in G5 this season. Let’s keep counting the wins. Obviously, it goes without saying, this site roots for Tiger blue.
One final thing, one more Clemson loss and I say we relegate them from the ACC for the season. Between them and Va Tech I think they could use an easier schedule. I’ll nominate South Florida and Memphis to take their place.
The AAC is strong. The end.
